Diverse Engineering Professionals Conference uplifts underrepresented students

Several Mizzou Engineering student groups organized the 4th Diverse Engineering Professionals Conference (DEPC), held on Saturday, April 17. Participants heard from underrepresented voices in STEM fields, including those whose careers or primary goal are to speak out on issues surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion.

DEPC Recognized by National Academy of Inventors

The College of Engineering established the Diverse Engineering Professionals Conference (DEPC) in 2017 to recognize diversity organizations and diverse students while promoting the college’s core college values of integrity, excellence and collaboration. Several student organizations, under the leadership of Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence and Strategic Initiatives Tojan Rahhal, launched the first conference in 2017 in collaboration with the Engineering Leadership, Engagement and Career Development Academy and the Office of Diversity and Outreach initiatives.

College hosts third annual Diverse Engineering Professionals Conference

The Diverse Engineering Professionals Conference, or DEPC, is the only of its kind in the nation, making the College of Engineering a key leader in diversity and inclusion initiatives across college campuses. The conference, held Saturday, Oct. 26, is an inclusive space for engineering students of all backgrounds to develop themselves professionally as well as interact with employers who value diversity.
