The Mizzou chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) continued to garner accolades at the Region 5 Fall Conference in St. Louis Oct. 24-27. For the fifth year in a row, the Mizzou NSBE chapter was selected as the ‘Missouri Zone Most Outstanding Chapter,’ encompassing Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and North and South Dakota.

Student Volunteers Make New Connections

Sophia Wilson has gained a new appreciation for life in small-town Missouri. The Dallas, Texas native was among more than 100 MU students who left campus Nov. 2 to participate in Mizzou Alternative Breaks service trips across Missouri. Wilson and her peers spent the weekend in Brunswick, Missouri, a rural community in Chariton County known as the “Pecan Capital of Missouri.”

MU Awards $260,000 to Accelerate Biomedical Discoveries from Lab to Market

The University of Missouri’s Coulter Biomedical Accelerator Program awarded four grants totaling $260,000 to help promising medical discoveries make the transition from laboratory research to commercial investment and direct patient care. The grants were announced at an awards ceremony on Nov. 5 at the MU School of Medicine.
