Undergraduate Research

Gain valuable hands-on skills, explore new areas of interest and give your resume a competitive edge. Get involved in undergraduate research at Mizzou Engineering!

Our faculty members are world-renowned experts in their fields, and they welcome undergraduate students to join their research teams. Work alongside them and graduate students to publish papers, present at conferences and showcase your work at research events.

The Undergraduate Research Fellowship in the College of Engineering is designed to enhance undergraduate engineering students’ involvement in research with the expectation that they will be encouraged to pursue a graduate degree in engineering. Selected students will receive a $1,000 stipend per semester, comprised of a 50% cost share between an engineering faculty mentor or department, and the College of Engineering.

We promote interdisciplinary research, too, meaning you’ll have opportunities to work with collaborators from across campus, including the School of Medicine, Trulaske College of Business, College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources and more.

Starting your junior year, you’ll be ready to enroll in undergraduate and honors research hours in the Undergraduate Research Program and Undergraduate Research Honors Program. Compensation is possible depending upon your faculty advisor.

We’ll also support you as you consider furthering your education in a graduate program.

Be part of innovative research that is making a difference in the world.
