The College of Engineering celebrated its newest recipients of the Dean’s Engineering Excellence Fellowship and the Multicultural Engineering Program Graduate Fellowship with a luncheon recently.
These programs support the College’s strategic priorities to expand our graduate student enrollment and retention.
The Dean’s Fellowship covers their stipend, tuition, fees, and healthcare costs for the first year of their doctoral studies. The department and/or the student’s adviser provide financial support for the remainder of their studies. The MEP fellows receive an additional stipend for their dissertation year.
The Dean’s Engineering Excellence Fellowship and the Multicultural Engineering Program Graduate Fellowship recipients for 2019 were:

The MEP Fellowship is in part funded by UM System’s Inclusive Excellence Program and aims to recruit and support top tier engineering students who come from diverse backgrounds with the purpose of fostering an inclusive environment and community in the College of Engineering.
The program helps students to succeed throughout their college careers by fostering a holistic support network between students, faculty and staff with structured progress checks, professional development opportunities, academic enrichment and mentoring.
