Students

Think Globally

September 01, 2020

Mizzou Engineering recently formed a partnership with Mizzou Study Abroad to provide global learning experiences for engineering students.

“We’re excited to work with Mizzou Engineering. This partnership will give students the opportunity to become global leaders in engineering and gain skills on an international level,” Director of Study Abroad Miguel Ayllon said.

Study abroad programs are available in over 40 countries, including China, Spain and South Africa. These programs can last from one week to a full year. Scholarships are available to offset travel costs and other expenses.

Classes in these programs include engineering, humanities, social science and writing intensive courses. These courses meet degree requirements, so you can still graduate on time while experiencing a different culture.

Mizzou Study Abroad also offers global and virtual internships for students to enhance their resume and gain experience.

“We encourage students to study abroad and experience new cultures, in part because research shows those students tend to get hired sooner and receive higher starting salaries,” Ayllon said.

Mizzou Engineering students can explore what international learning opportunities exist at the upcoming virtual Mizzou Abroad Fair 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9. You must register to be able to attend. Activities will include Q&A sessions with international partners and presentations on available programs. If you are unable to attend the fair, information is available on the Study Abroad website to learn more.
